Step3: Watering And Taking Care Till Harvest For Okra
Okra is a hot weather crop. It can sustain very high sunlight and can survive in low water levels.
We recommend watering the Okra plants only when the top surface is dry. If you are using a cocopeat based potting mix, it retains water inside and helps okra grow well.
Usually watering once in 2 to 3 days is sufficient. Under very hot and humid conditions water every day. during winter and rainy seasons check the moisture content of the soil before watering.
Many times bhindi plants are killed by overwatering. Insert your finger into the soil to check moisture inside before watering.
Step4: Pests And Harvest
Usually, okra plants get affected by Aphids, Leaf miners, Mealybugs. We suggest using only organic fertilizers.
The best option for these insects is using neem oil. Dilute neem oil with water in the ratio of 1:50 and spray on the okra plants. We recommend spraying it in the morning or in the evening. Bhindi plants will not be able to withstand high sunlight as well as neem oil spray together.
